About Stephen
Stephen J. Summers is a 1980 graduate of St. Vincent College and received his Juris Doctor from The Ohio Northern University School of Law in 1983. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1984 and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Mr. Summers’ practice encompasses all aspects of tort, casualty and insurance defense litigation. Mr. Summers has extensive litigation experience in the areas of auto, UM/UIM, trucking accidents, premises liability, product liability, general liability, wrongful death, dram shop/liquor liability, insurance coverage, bad faith, commercial litigation and general business litigation. Since 1984, Mr. Summers has successfully tried numerous jury trials to verdict throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition to his trial practice, Mr. Summers has argued several cases on behalf of his clients before the Pennsylvania Superior and Supreme Court.
Mr. Summers is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Allegheny County Bar Association and Dauphin County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and is a past member of the Board of Directors and the Amicus Curiae committee. Mr. Summers is a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the Pennsylvania Academy of Trial Lawyers. He was recognized as a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2015. He has presented various seminars on topics involving the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law, Worker’s Compensation Law and Bad Faith Litigation.
