Susan M. Leming, Attorney

Susan M. Leming is a partner with the firm and concentrates her practice in labor and employment litigation and counsels employers in the development and implementation of preventive labor and employee relations programs. She advises both unionized and nonunion employers on a full range of labor and employee relations matters. In 2008, Ms. Leming was selected as one of the Top 40 Attorneys Under 40 in New Jersey by the New Jersey Law Journal.

Ms. Leming represents employers and individuals in cases of employment discrimination and violations of state and federal employment related statutes. She has particular expertise in the drafting of employment contracts and restrictive covenants and in the enforcement of such agreements. She regularly appears before the state and federal courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and before governmental agencies, including the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the United States and New Jersey Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board. Ms. Leming assists employers in implementing policies and strategies to prevent employment litigation claims including the drafting and review of employment handbooks and employment policies. She regularly represents employers in collective bargaining, provides advice on a diverse range of work place issues and conducts management training on a broad range of topics. She is a frequent speaker on employment issues to management and human resources/personnel groups.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Leming served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Marvin E. Schlosser and the Honorable Cornelius P. Sullivan of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Burlington County.

Ms. Leming graduated from Albright College with bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Political Science in 1993. She earned her law degree in 1996 from the Villanova University School of Law where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Villanova Environmental Law Journal from 1995-1996. She is the author of NRDC v. EPA: The Final Chapter in the Listing Saga, published in the 1995 Villanova Environmental Law Journal.

She was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 1996 and Pennsylvania in 1997. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Leming is a member of the American, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Camden County and Burlington County Bar Associations.

Ms. Leming was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1971.
