Susan S. Singer

Susan S. Singer is of counsel to the firm. Her practice is concentrated in labor and employment law, with particular emphasis on complex federal and state litigation. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey (1977) and before the United States District Court of New Jersey (1977) and the Third Circuit of New Jersey of Appeals (1994). She also has significant experience in litigation in the Southern District of New York on a pro hac vice basis.

Ms. Singer has, since 1989, represented the City of Newark in the defense of a wide range of labor and employment litigation under Title VII, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination. the Conscientious Employee Protection Act, and the Federal Labor Standards Act. She has also had broad private sector litigation experience in employment litigation involving newspaper, banking, commercial and small business settings. Her particular expertise is in the area of race, gender, age, and handicap discrimination cases.

Ms. Singer is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College (B.A., magna cum laude, 1967), Columbia University (M.A. 1971) and Rutgers Law School (1976). From 1976 to 1977 she served as a law clerk to Hon. Milton Conford, P.J.A.D., temporarily assigned to the Supreme Court of New Jersey.
