There is no fee for the initial consultation. The fee for personal injury actions is called "contingency" and is set at 1/3 of the settlement or verdict. There are other details about this arrangement that have to be discussed.

$1,100,000 - Pedestrian Injury Case
After being struck by a motor vehicle while crossing the street, a client was hospitalized for several months with multiple fractures, head injuries and surgeries. An expert in accident reconstruction analysis proved that the accident was the driver’s fault.
$2,000,000 - Sexual Assault Case
A woman was raped in her apartment building and Eric Richman filed suit against the building’s owners. He proved that the front door to the building was broken for several years prior to the sexual assault. The case settled for $2 million.
$2,250,000 - Construction Injury Case
A construction worker was not provided with the proper ladder and safety equipment. He fell over ten feet and broke both ankles, requiring multiple invasive surgeries. He was never able to work again. Eric Richman was able to prove the client's employer was at fault.
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I once had a case where the previous attorney never even spoke to the client on the phone. I took over the case and was able to settle it within a few months.
How did you build a successful practice?
I started at a corporate law firm. Some of my initial cases were referred by this practice.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Communication is key. Ask the lawyer for his / her private cell number at the first meeting. Getting the ability to directly contact your attorney is crucial.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
"Local knowledge" is only somewhat important. Experience in litigating hundreds of cases is much more important.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
The consultation only the first step in a long process. An initial phone conversation can determine if I can at least start taking the next steps.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
All I need to know is the details of what happened to you (or a loved one).
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I take a lot of pride in my work. I don't have a "volume practice." That is, each client will have direct communication with me or an attorney. Not a paralegal. Not an assistant. An attorney.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Helping victims of crime is always rewarding for me. I could never un-do the destruction a crime can cause a person or a family. But I can do my best to help families get some answers.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I like spending time with my family and my baby girl.
Are you involved in your community?
Of course. My wife and I are dedicated to several local charities.
