About Theresa
Ms. Carli grew up in Charleston, South Carolina after moving from Cincinnati, Ohio at the age of nine. While in high school and as an undergraduate, Theresa was on the United States Karate team. As a third-degree black belt and international competitor, she was a member of two World Championship teams in 2000 in Madrid, Spain and 2002 in Munich, Germany. She was also an individual silver medalist in the World Championships, and bronze medalist in the Pan-American Games, and a bronze medalist in the Goodwill games in Tokyo, Japan.
After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies with a Minor in Sports Law from the University of Central Florida, Theresa moved to Jacksonville and to attend Law School. Since her graduation from law school, Theresa has focused her practice on civil litigation with a strong emphasis on real estate and property law, as well as, family law.
Ms. Carli is also an adjunct professor at Florida Coastal School of Law, where she teaches second-year law schools how to litigate in the form of motion writing and oral argument. She also coaches the team’s Mock Trial team and travels with the team twice a year to compete against other law schools around the country. Theresa also spends Friday mornings live on St. Johns County’s local radio station, WSOS, where she talks community and national events live on the radio.
Ms. Carli now practices in several counties bordering Florida’s east coast, including Nassau, Clay, Duval, St. Johns, Flagler, and Volusia. She is also licensed to practice in the Federal Middle District of Florida.

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I assisted a local business owner pro bono in a frivolous ADA claim. He is such a hard worker, and a serial ADA filer came into his store specifically to pin him with ADA violations. We recently got the case dismissed. Also, I assisted a client with partitioning and selling a property she inherited when her mother passed, where her other family members were living in the property but not contributing to any expenses, etc. Our client was taking all of the liabilities and getting none of the benefits. She was an absolute saint, and I was thrilled to get this case resolved for her.
