About Thomas
Graduated from Georgetown University and Seton Hall University School of Law, Mr. Sullivan was admitted to the practice of law in New Jersey in 1970 and in New York in 1988.
He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and of its Real Property, Probate and Trust Committee and he is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and of its Trusts and Estates Committee. He belongs to the New York City Estate Planning Council and the Estate Planning Council of Northern New Jersey. He has frequently attended the University of Miami School of Law, Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning and numerous other annual conferences on estate planning topics.
He has worked with individuals to establish plans for the organization, management, investment and transfer of their assets to successive generations of family, friends and favored charities. His practice includes the planning and preparation of estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney and living wills. He is experienced in the creation of limited partnerships and limited liability companies, corporations, general partnerships and many other structures that are utilized to both manage and accomplish the tax advantaged transfer of wealth.
He also has substantial experience working with both individuals and charities in planning charitable gifts. He has created foundations, charitable lead and remainder trusts and many other structured charitable transfers for of his clients.
He is also experienced in litigating estate contests and in defending the actions of executors and trustees.
