About Thomas

Thomas F. Connery, Jr. is a name partner and founding member of the firm, and now confines his activities to consultation and advisory assistance to the litigation section. As a trial attorney he was active in many areas of litigation and a pioneer in the products liability field, where he successfully argued several landmark cases before the New Jersey Supreme Court.

From 1941 to 1946, he served as an agent and officer in the United States Naval Intelligence Service, later applying for sea duty and participated in the Normandy invasion. At war's end he was the commanding officer of an LSM at Okinawa in the Pacific. Upon his return to the States, he settled in Woodbury, New Jersey, the county seat of Gloucester County, where he raised his family and extended his trial practice into all nine counties south of Trenton, New Jersey, the State capital. The firm's attorneys have now extended its legal work and practice to wherever they are called.

Mr. Connery was elected to the General Assembly in 1958, and to the New Jersey State Senate in 1960. He was also a Delegate to the New Jersey Constitutional Convention in 1966. Mr. Connery has served as special and general counsel for several local governmental entities including the Delaware River Port Authority and the Port Authority Transit Corporation. He was also a member of the New Jersey Law Enforcement Council, the New Jersey Off Track Betting Commission, and the Gloucester County Housing Authority. In addition, Mr. Connery was Commissioner of the New Jersey Racing Commission from 1973 to 1982, as well as Chairman from 1973 to 1976.

Mr. Connery is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has also served as a member and leader of many local bar associations and professional organizations including the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, American and New Jersey State Bar Association, Camden County Bar Association, Gloucester County Bar Association (President, 1965-1966), Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, and Third Circuit Judicial Conference. Mr. Connery was also the recipient of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey Trial Bar Award in 1974.

Mr. Connery Received his law degree from Rutgers University in 1939, and was subsequently awarded the Rutgers-Camden Law School Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1991.

Mr. Connery was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 1940. His is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Connery was born in Tyrone, Pennsylvania in 1915.
