About Todd

I have been a franchise attorney since 1988 and have served as the general counsel for several international franchise brands, you would recognize.  I have also been a franchisee and wrote extensively on the topic when I was a monthly columnist for Entrepreneur Magazine as well as Franchise Times.  I have seen so many franchise disclosure documents that I can discern what is normal and what is excessive.  I love to start franchise companies and enjoy the creative outlet involved with that creation.  I can also work with the required intellectual property and related contracts.  Most of my new franchisors use me as their outside general counsel for years. I also enjoy the David and Goliath aspect of representing franchisees who may be taken advantage of by an overreaching franchisor.
