About Tye

Tye's practice is focused on the areas of elder law, estate planning, Medicaid planning, and estate administration. His practice also includes significant real estate estate and corporate work.  His practice seeks to bring a personal feel to the exceedingly complex matters of Medicaid law, trust formation, tax planning, real estate, and business planning.  Making complex and difficult concepts understandable to clients is the heart of his practice and his success.
 
Tye is a frequent presenter on elder law issues to local groups, including nursing homes and dementia-support groups. He is a past presenter for the National Bar Institute (NBI) on estate administration matters. He publishes various articles on estate planning and elder law, including acting as a featured presenter on the use of mediation in resolving family guardianship disputes at the 2014 World Congress on Adult Guardianship. He is the author of 10 Tough Conversations: Successfully Addressing Issues of Aging with our Parents (2013).
 
Tye is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Trusts & Estates section, the Pennsylvania Association of Elder Law Attorneys (PAELA), the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and the Crawford County Bar Association.  

In his free time, Tye coaches Allegheny College's Mock Trial Team, is the past president of Big Brothers and Sisters of Crawford County, is a member of the Meadville Chamber of Commerce board of directors, and secretary of the Crawford County Bar Association.
