Questions & Answers
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
First is reputation, especially among peers. Second is length of time lawyer has practiced ONLY immigration law versus other areas(divorce, bankruptcy, personal injury,criminal, etc.). One would NOT expect to choose a general or family physician to perform brain surgeries or heart transplants, etc. The same applies when selecting a lawyer. Third is a lawyer should have highly skilled staff/paralegals. LAST BUT NOT LEAST you should expect to pay only a reasonable fee agreed to in advance. Paying an exorbitant fee does not guarantee skilled representation. Unfortunately the exact opposite results in many cases.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
In a free phone consultation we follow up and explore potential options/solutions based on background information the individual furnishes at that time plus the any written information furnished us prior to the consultation (office or phone). When a specific option(s) can be ascertained prior to or during the initial consultation we can normally quote a reasonable fixed flat fee for a our services at that time.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I am the only Oklahoma immigration lawyer listed more than 20 consecutive years in The Best Lawyers in America©. I have been designated as "Immigration Lawyer of the year" for 2014 by the U.S. News & World Reports magazine based on the selection by other lawyers listed in The Best Lawyers in America©. I founded Oklahoma's oldest Immigration Law Firm. I founded and am the administrator of web based network of nationally prominent immigration lawyers. Our three paralegals have law degrees from each of their native countries and two have Masters of Law LLM and MBA degrees from U.S. Universities. All three paralegals immigrated to the U.S. via the "green card" process.We normally represent clients on a fixed fee basis instead of hourly. This means clients won't be surprised or shocked to receive unexpected hourly bills during the course of the case. They know in advance what our fee will be.
