After graduation from the University of Notre Dame and University of Virginia Law School Terry served as a Captain with the 64th Military Police Company in Toul, France, was an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Newport News and has been engaged in the private practice of law in Newport News since 1969. While a member of the City Council for the City of Newport News from 1990 to 2002 Terry served on many Commissions and Boards within the City and the National League of Cities. Alexander Laufer joined the firm in 1994. His practice is concentrated in civil litigation and real estate transactions, providing services in the areas of personal injury law, medical malpractice, construction law and employment law. Mr. Laufer grew up in Montreal, Canada but also lived and attended school in Jerusalem and Johannesburg, South Africa. He speaks four languages, English, French, Hungarian and Hebrew. Mr. Laufer graduated (cum laude) in 1972 from Loyola College and with High Honors from the University of Florida School of Law in 1976. Mr. Laufer has been an adjunct professor at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida and more recently at the Marymount University School of Business. He is a member of both the Virginia and Florida bars and is a Commissioner in Chancery in Fairfax County. Mr. Laufer has over 35 years of experience in complex litigation in both state and federal courts, including bankruptcy court and has handled thousands of residential and commercial real estate transactions. In recent years Mr. Laufer has litigated numerous cases involving noncompliance by residential builders with the federal Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act. In addition, Mr. Laufer has become a member of the Vaccine Injury Program Bar and the Federal Court of Claims Bar Association and is assisting families with members injured by vaccines, in obtaining compensation pursuant to the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, a federal program whichimmunizes (pun intended) pharmaceutical companies from suit, but substitutes a fund as an alternative. This is a relatively obscure and poorly understood program which, however, represents the only real recourse for those suffering injury from vaccines listed on the Vaccine Injury Table.

Corey Pollard is the managing partner of Jenkins Block & Associates‘ Richmond office and heads the Virginia Workers’ Compensation department of the firm. Mr. Pollard focuses his practice on representing individuals who have suffered injuries at work or through the fault of others, including car accident, motorcycle wreck, construction accident, medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. Born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, Mr. Pollard grew up in a construction family. While in law school, Mr. Pollard was selected as a member of the Richmond Journal of Law and the Public and Interest. He was also selected as member of the school’s Client Counseling & Negotiation Board after winning the Environmental Negotiation Competition in 2007. Prior to joining Jenkins Block & Associates, Mr. Pollard worked as an insurance defense attorney where he gained valuable experience and training while representing many of the nation’s largest employers and insurance carriers. Now he uses that experience to represent individuals who sustained personal injuries and disability and to fight back against insurance companies and their tactics. Mr. Pollard’s wife, Leigh, is a Human Resources Manager who provides “real world” advice and insight on employment and labor law matters. The Pollards have two children, Knox and Rivers, who keep them busy and running around, and a 5-pound dog named Simba. They are members of Bon Air Baptist Church. I first fell in love with the idea of becoming an attorney while watching fictional defense attorney Perry Mason on TV. Played by Raymond Burr, that character's no-nonsense attitude and his constant dedication to defending his clients struck a nerve. It's what made me want to commit to helping people with their legal needs. Inspired by the show, I decided to become an attorney. After attending historic Hampden-Sydney College and graduating in 1973, I attended law school at the University of Virginia, where I graduated in 1977. After being admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1979, I opened my practice in Lynchburg that same year. That's where I've been for almost 40 years, providing dedicated and personal legal representation to many people over the years, operating under the belief that every client is deserving of understanding and respect. One of the things that bring me the greatest amount of joy from my career is knowing how many people I've helped through some really tough circumstances in their life. Hiring an attorney can be a stressful thing, which is why I try to make it as easy as possible for them. I listen to the details of their case and do my best to make sure I have the story straight before I come up with an idea of how to pursue their case. Mark Peake has been practicing law in the areas of personal injury, insurance defense, civil litigation, products liability, and criminal defense since 1988. He has extensive trial experience in Virginia’s state and federal courts, and he has successfully appealed a number of cases to the Supreme Court of Virginia. He is a former President of the Lynchburg Bar Association. In addition to his law practice, Mark represents Virginia’s 22nd Senate District in the Senate of Virginia, which includes the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Buckingham, Cumberland, Fluvanna, Goochland, Prince Edward County, and parts of Louisa County and the City of Lynchburg.
