Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I had to obtain sole emergency custody for a father wherein the mother was causing the child harm (mental abuse) during her timesharing. Also, was was able to get a dismissal of a cyber stalking charge for another client after having a 6 hour judge trial.
How did you build a successful practice?
One client at a time making sure each client gets treated fairly and like they are the only client I have. Also by practicing ethically, yet vigorously building a fine reputation in the legal community.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Someone who is knowledgeable in the areas in which they practice, has an excellent reputation in the legal community, someone who works hard for them, and has the experience in the courtroom to successfully present their case in the best possible light.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Very important. Every judge and every attorney is uniquely different in many ways. Knowing your opposing counsel and your judge is very helpful in determining how best to present or work a case.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I do free consultations in the area of criminal law only. We can discuss the entire case on the phone, however I find it more effective to meet face to face. The client needs to be comfortable with their choice of lawyers. Meeting face to face gives you a better feel for the person.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I do free consultations in the area of criminal law only. Basic information is name, address and phone number. Then we can discuss all aspects of the case over the phone.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Helping people in troubling times in their lives, knowing I can make a difference.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Anything outdoors, fishing, four wheeling, horse back riding, kayaking, etc.
Are you involved in your community?
I am. I served as honorary commander for the 36th Electronic Warfare Sqaudron at Eglin AFB for over a year; and I am currently the honorary commander for the 919th Squadron at Duke Field.
