About Wayne

Wayne B. Wiseman is a highly experienced trial attorney, with a particular emphasis in the area of criminal defense. Additionally, he has considerable experience before various state and federal regulatory and licensing authorities, regularly represented union members in arbitration proceedings, and has handled a wide range of civil and commercial litigation. Mr. Wiseman has handled in excess of 100 federal and state jury trials to verdict, and has appeared as trial counsel in jurisdictions throughout the United States. He is an honorary member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the New York County Criminal Bar Association, Kings County Criminal Bar Association, and is a faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Wiseman started his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in New York City, and subsequently founded the Park Avenue Law firm of Wiseman, Hoffmann & Walzer. He has recently joined the Thatcher Law Firm.

In addition to the practice of law, Mr. Wiseman holds an accounting degree;  has been employed as an accountant by a prominent national accounting firm; and was made an honorary member of the National Accounting Fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi.

Mr. Wiseman graduated magna cum laude with a B.B.A. from Temple University before obtaining his law degree from Georgetown Law School in 1981. He is a member of the New York State Bar, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, all United States District Courts for the State of New York, and the United States District Court for Maryland.
