She lectures widely and has authored articles and chapters about aspects of health law for several books. She has taught health policy and the legal and ethical aspects of health care to doctoral, master’s and baccalaureate students as an adjunct professor at Teachers College/Columbia University and Seton Hall University’s School of Law and College of Nursing. Ms. Gialanella enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1972; later graduated from the University of Maryland; and then served as an officer in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. She remained on active duty until 1979 when she was honorably discharged. She is a retired major of the U.S. Army Reserve. She received her law degree from New York Law School in 1983 and a Masters of Law in Health Law & Policy from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2004. Ms. Gialanella is past president of the New York Metropolitan and New Jersey Chapters of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA).
