About William
William W. Kaliff, a principal of Rome McGuigan, P.C., concentrates his practice in the areas of civil, commercial and intellectual property litigation. In connection therewith, Mr. Kaliff has investigated and/or litigated, among other things, commercial and intellectual property matters involving corporate espionage, commercial theft and related employee issues within North America on behalf of the firm's clients. Mr. Kaliff is also involved in the drafting and negotiation of contracts and agreements related to such areas, including the ownership of and protection of intellectual property rights in the context of employment relationships, product development and the licensing of intellectual property rights.
Mr. Kaliff was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1988 and is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. In representing clients on behalf of the firm, Mr. Kaliff has been admitted pro hac vice in courts throughout the United States, including, among others, Florida, Maryland, Illinois, Iowa, California and Hawaii, to litigate diverse cases.
Mr. Kaliff was born in Providence, Rl, in 1963. He grew up in East Providence, Rl, and graduated from La Salle Academy in Providence, Rl, in 1981. Mr. Kaliff earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Boston College in 1985, where he also obtained membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Alpha Theta, and earned his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Boston College Law School in 1988.
Mr. Kaliff is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association (Sections on Litigation, Intellectual Property, and Commercial Law and Bankruptcy) and American Bar Association (Sections on Litigation, Intellectual Property Law and Taxation).
Mr. Kaliff is married and the proud father of four children.
