About William
I offer a free initial consultation by phone up to 1/2 hour, to see if your matter is something worth pursuing and if I would consider taking it on.
My customary rate is $250.00 hr. for all time billed. My standard retainer required to be paid in advance of filing an new lawsuit is $5750.00, consisting of prepayment for 20 hours and $750 toward initial filing fees and cost of service of process on defendant(s). I ordinarily do not advance costs in litigation matters involving real estate. I also make fixed fee arrangements depending on the case, client and circumstances of the legal dispute, especially if the amount in controversy is limited. Typically an appeal is also handled as a fixed fee because an appeal requires a big 'upfront' commitment of time to review the trial record and prepare a legal brief, but also a lot of waiting for a decision afterward, making it reasonable to estimate what's required.
