Billy Middleton has over 30 years of litigation experience during which he has tried over 200 cases to verdict. Recognized by his peers who awarded him for over 15 years the highest possible rating among attorneys, Mr. Middleton’s practice focuses primarily in workers’ compensation, personal injury, social security law and insurance law. He is also a registered mediator. Mr. Middleton has participated in trials in both State and Federal Court and engaged in Appellate practice before the Supreme Court of Alabama, Alabama Court of Civil Appeals and Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals. He is a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Alabama Bar Association, and Defense Research Institute. He is frequently asked to lecture at seminars and continuing education programs on workers’ compensation issues. He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1984 after graduating cum laude from the University of Alabama in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce Business Administration and a Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1984. He is also admitted to practice before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, U. S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, and U. S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. Originally from Montgomery, Alabama Mr. Middleton is a life-long Alabama resident. He moved to Decatur in 1984, and has been active in the community and in civil organizations including Kiwanis. He is a sports enthusiast, including college athletics, golf and hunting.
