About William

Bill Moore is the lead attorney at William Moore & Associates. He has been practicing law for more than 30 years in a variety of areas. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Economics. Afterwards he attended Detroit College of Law (now MSU College of Law) and was admitted to practice in 1980. In addition to practicing law, Bill has owned multiple businesses including lumberyards, building companies, and realty companies which gives him a unique understanding and first hand knowledge of the laws in those areas.
Bill meets with clients to gather information, handles all representations at court hearings, drafts motions and briefs, drafts discovery requests and responses, attends conferences with judges and opposing lawyers, and provides the legal advice to clients.

We believe in charging fair and reasonable rates for legal services. We also believe in being transparent about our fees. We offer two options for our legal services; For all divorce, criminal, and small civil matters, we charge an hourly rate. We require a retainer (up front payment) based on the type of case you have. Our rates vary between $50-$100 per hour for any work done by our legal assistant, Chris Bailey, and $250-$375 per hour for any work done by our lead attorney, William Moore. The rates vary based on the type of case you have. In addition, the client is responsible for any court costs (i.e. filing fees, deposition costs), office costs (i.e. copying costs), and other needed costs (i.e. private investigator, expert(s)). Currently we do not accept credit cards for payments. We also offer a contingency option for larger civil cases such as wrongful termination. We would only collect our fees if we win. If we successfully recover any amount of money, we would receive 1/3 (33%) of the total amount. After speaking with you and learning of the case you may have, we may offer this option. Many clients prefer this option because it gives them confidence their lawyer will work hard on their case. They know the lawyer has a motivation that they are compensated for their time. It also relieves them of excessive legal costs for a case that may take months or even years to resolve in some situations. The client is responsible for any court costs (i.e. filing fees, deposition costs), office costs (i.e. copying costs), and other needed costs (i.e. private investigator, expert(s)). Often times these types of cases have laws that require the opposing party to pay your attorney fees. This can help prevent cutting into your award.
