About William
William Martin Rifkin joined Belkin Burden Wenig & Goldman, LLP as Counsel in 2004 and became a Partner in 2007. His practice areas include litigation and foreclosure, representation of New York banks and financial institutions with respect to commercial litigation, residential and commercial foreclosure actions, residential and commercial eviction proceedings, related bankruptcy proceeding and workouts.
Mr. Rifkin handles a wide range of real estate litigation matters including creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, foreclosures, commercial litigation and commercial law cases. He gained considerable experience in these areas at the former New York firm of Parker Duryee Rosoff & Haft, PC, which he joined in 1985. While there, he handled more than 2,500 real property and cooperative foreclosures in the New York metropolitan area, and oversaw the firm’s Foreclosure Department.
He has also defended more than 2,000 matters on behalf of a major financial institution and defended other corporate clients as well. He is well versed in all phases of commercial and residential landlord and tenant proceedings, including evictions, and he has appeared before all courts in the City of New York, Nassau and Suffolk counties, and several upstate counties. Mr. Rifkin has also represented major financial institutions and corporations in bankruptcy proceedings.
Mr. Rifkin earned his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with minors in Economics and Political Science. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York County Bar Association and Nassau County Bar Association.
