Evaluating and reviewing domestic and international investment opportunities that are consistent with the client’s stated business objectives and needs;
Mergers & Acquisitions, including corporate structuring, restructuring and reorganization;
Preparing and negotiating numerous types of contracts including commercial contracts, joint ventures, partnership agreements, purchase and sale agreements, employment contracts and service agreements.
Advising Boards of Directors and Board Committees on various corporate governance issues including vetting and selection of executive officers, assessing shareholder rights and responding to business combination proposals; and
Organizational matters, including formation, operating agreements, bylaws and shareholder agreements.
Estate Planning Mr. Lawler discovered that many business clients also need legal assistance in preparing their estates to provide a plan that will protect their assets, their family and their legacy. Mr. Lawler, in response to such needs, has developed an estate planning practice for both families and business owners. Mr. Lawler’s Estate Planning practice includes the design and preparation of the following:
Revocable Living Trusts;
Irrevocable Trusts;
Living Wills;
Durable Powers of Attorney;
Health Care Power of Attorney; and
Trust Administration;
Mr. Lawler is a member of a number of professional associations, including the American Bar Association, and is licensed to practice law in the States of Arizona and California. Born in California, Mr. Lawler received his B.S. Business Management, from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, in 1984, and received his Juris Doctorate degree from the USC Gould School of Law in Los Angeles, California in 1988.

Over the past year, I successfully structured a client's estate plan, enabling her to qualify for a mortgage to buy a new home. I also assisted a business client in setting up his LLC, including an Operating Agreement, Private Placement Memorandum and Commercial Lease. The company is now up and running generating income.
How did you build a successful practice?I have developed a successful practice by focusing on building ongoing relationships with my clients - one client at a time. My practice is not transactional-based. My practice is designed to have ongoing relationships with my clients so that they know I am available when additional questions or issues arise.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?It's important for clients to seek a lawyer who demonstrates transparency and reliability.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?The most important thing is work with an attorney that utilizes cutting edge legal techniques and practice skills.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?The greatest satisfaction in my work comes from witnessing the sense of relief and peace clients experience once their estate plan is finalized.
What are your other interests in addition to law?Outside of my legal profession, my interests include spending quality time with my family, traveling to new destinations, and engaging in boating.
Are you involved in your community?My wife and I are engaged in our church community, teaching Sunday school to teenagers bi-monthly.
