Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I had a client/father who was denied parenting time for no legal reason with his minor children. By the time I was done with his case, paternity was properly established through the court, we had a completed settlement agreement regarding joint custody, some child support, and a proper order regrading my client claiming the children on his taxes as dependents.

How did you build a successful practice?

I built a successful practice by my positive reputation. I treat each client with respect and give each case the utmost attention and time. I take on a certain amount of clients at a time, which allows me to pay great attention to my clients. Word of mouth from my colleagues and from past clients has worked in my favor.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for an attorney that they are comfortable speaking with, especially regarding family law matters. These matters are very personal and should be kept confidential. The attorney should respect the attorney-client privilege. Clients should also look for an attorney who is professional, is familiar with that client's legal need, has great communication skills, and treats the client like a person and not a case number.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge is very important because every court/judge/county is not the same. Knowing the personality of the clerks and Judges can be beneficial for clients to know what to expect.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

Over the phone, I usually collect basic information about the potential client's needs and expectations. Then I can tell them what steps need to happen next. I also clarify that no attorney/client relationship has been established until a retainer agreement is signed with payment.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I need the person's first and last name, contact information (phone number and email), their case number if they have a pending case, their county/city/state that their case or potential case may be in. I also need some basics about their case in order to give them the proper evaluation of the next steps.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I am very knowledgeable about family law cases, and I treat every client with the utmost respect.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my job is meeting and exceeding my client's expectations. Especially in cases, where children are involved.

Are you involved in your community?

Yes, I am involved with helping law students, involved in different bar associations, and involved in legal work for some non-profit organizations.
