Yu Leseberg is among the most prolific firms practicing music law in the United States. In 2014, for instance, the Yu Leseberg firm and Helen Yu negotiated more Billboard Hot 100 and
Hot R & B 100 singles than any other Hollywood firm.

Yu Leseberg has been involved with several high-profile legal actions in recent years. In the mid-2000s, Helen Yu and her team helped uncover financial wrongdoing against the Black Eyed Peas’ and business associates by their former business manager and accountant, resulting in an audit revealing the accountant/business manager misreported the group’s touring and other  income along with other financial improprieties.

Prior to founding Yu Leseberg, Ms. Yu held several associate legal and non-legal positions in the music industry, gaining valuable insights in the process. Past employers include Virgin Records America and Sony Pictures Entertainment. During law school, she interned at Motown Records and public television, KCET.  While still a teen, she  interned at Enigma Records, one of the most influential 1980s alternative scene record labels.

Ms. Yu is a graduate of Whittier College  (J.D., with honors, 1993) and California State University - Northridge (bachelor’s, speech communication).
