About Adriana

ADRIANA HERNANDEZ CARDENAS has been practicing law at Atlas & Hall, L.L.P. since 1997. Her main area of practice is civil litigation, including personal injury, insurance defense and commercial litigation.

Adriana was a Legal Intern with the Court of Appeals, First District Court of Texas in 1995 and received her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1997. She was admitted to the State Bar of Texas later that same year. In 1998, Adriana was admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas.

She has served as a Director and Secretary on the Board of Directors of the Hidalgo County Young Lawyers' Association, and has served two terms as a Director on the Board of Directors of the Hidalgo County Bar Association.

Adriana was named a Texas Rising Star for the years 2005-2009, Law & Politics/Texas Monthly, and she currently serves on the State Bar of Texas Advertising Review Committee (2005-2008).

Adriana is a native of the Rio Grande Valley. She was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas, and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1990. In 1990, she was selected to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus in Washington, D.C., and interned with the Committee on Energy and Commerce, Minority Counsel's Office. She then attended the University of Texas at Austin, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, with majors in English and Government in 1994. While studying at the University of Texas, Adriana worked for then Governor Ann Richards, and in 1992 was recognized by Governor Richards for her service to the people of Texas. Adriana has been married to Luis Cardenas since 1994. They have two sons.
