Mr. Sternstein began his career on the Supreme Court of the United States as a law clerk for Justice William O. Douglas and, subsequently, Justice William J. Brennan, Jr.  Since then, in more than 30 years of practice, he has tried cases and argued appeals in both state and federal courts throughout the country, including on behalf of several Fortune 100 companies.  In addition to continuing to maintain an active commercial litigation practice, both counseling individuals and companies in resolving disputes economically and in representing clients in court and before arbitral panels, where disputes cannot be resolved short of formal proceedings, Mr. Sternstein continues to serve as a member of the Board of Appeals for the City of Rockville, a position he has held for 20 years, and is the legal advisor to and a voting member of the Mental Health Advisory Committee of Montgomery County, Maryland.  He has a B.A. in mathematics from the University of Arizona, where he also obtained his law degree in 1975, served as Executive Editor of the Arizona Law Review and was selected as the Outstanding Senior in his law school graduating class.
