About Alison
Alison Hershewe was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. She received her B.G.S. from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri. Ms. Hershewe went on to study law at the University of North Carolina, where she graduated with honors in 1994 and was awarded her Juris Doctorate Degree.
During law school, Ms. Hershewe was the President of the ATLA Student Chapter, as well as a member of the ATLA Mock Trial Team, which received regional honors. She also belonged to the North Carolina Law Review and the Inns of Court from 1993-1994.
After graduating law school, Ms. Hershewe gained admission to the Missouri Bar, the State Bar of Kansas, and the U.S. District Court, Western District of Missouri. The following year, she was admitted to the Arkansas Bar and U.S. District Court, District of Kansas. She has also been admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.
Ms. Hershewe maintains memberships in The Jasper County Bar Association, where she served as President from 2011-2012, as well as The Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, the Kansas City Metro Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and the Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers.
She authored the article, "Survey on Recent Developments in Law--Evidence--Rape Shield Statute--Witnesses--State v. Guthrie, 110 N.C. App. 91, 428 S.E. 2d853 (1993)" 72 N.C.L Rev. 1977.
Ms. Hershewe currently practices in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, general civil law, auto accident and trucking litigation, products liability, as well as being a member of the CJA Panel, where she is court-appointed to represent indigent criminal defendants in the U.S. District Court, Western District of Missouri.
