Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

The best type of case is when a potential client calls you and is facing a foreclosure of their home because they are behind on mortgage payments. I have stopped MANY foreclosures by filing a Chapter 13 bankruptcy to allow time for the client to catch up on their mortgage.

How did you build a successful practice?

I have 27 years of experience and have filed more than 10,000 cases. Knowing the ins and outs of consumer bankruptcy has help me build a successful practice.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for lawyers who are "up front" with respect to everything about your case. If I was a client, I will want to know if my case has any pitfalls or if I should expect any push-back from the Judges, Trustees or United States Trustee's office.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Knowing the local Trustees and Judges are key to your success.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

Typically, I describe the process for the potential client as well as my attorney fees. Additionally, we discuss what information is needed to figure out if you qualify for a bankruptcy.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

You can just call. However, if you have your income information and a general sense of what kinds of debt(s) that you have.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I take all of my calls. You get my direct phone line and I answer all of those calls. I also prepare all of the documents that are submitted to the court. I do not have a paralegal, or another service prepare your documents.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping others. When Debtors receive their discharge and are relieved of their debt...that is the most rewarding aspect of my job.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

My dogs. My kids. I probably should have put my kids before my dogs....
