About Alvin
Al served as a Republican Senator in the Colorado State Senate from 1977-1996. During his tenure in the State Senate, he served on the Committee on Education and was its Chairman from 1989-1996. Al also served as a Commissioner on the Education Commission of the States from 1981-1996; on the Colorado Commission on Education Achievement from 1991-1996; and on the Commission on Uniform State Laws from 1989-1996.
Al is also a Certified Public Accountant in Colorado, obtaining such designation in 1951.
Prior to obtaining his law degree, Al served in the United States Air Corps from 1941-1946, achieving the rank of Major.
