Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I helped a client recover $50,000 for her workplace injuries we are another lawyer had blown the statue limitations.

How did you build a successful practice?

I constantly view other industries for professional marketing ideas and I am privileged to be referred clients from previous clients and other attorneys, some of whom I compete with. I also stay active in both the New Hampshire and Massachusetts bar associations to keep my skills in both states sharp.[responsiveness, track record, hard work, creativity, word of mouth, etc.]

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

In addition to experience and education, clients should also seek a lawyer they feel comfortable with to represent their interests. Just like any other relationship if they are not comfortable with the lawyer it will be impossible to have a successful outcome.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Simply put, it is vital. Being one who actively practices in two different states, there are significant differences state to state that a lack of local knowledge will reduce a client's chance of a successful result.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

The initial phone consultation will flush out issues that perhaps a client can handle on their own, whether a case can't even be had, and whether a conflict with the lawyer exists. While phone consultations are important, a face-to-face consultation is the best way to ascertain a clients case.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

[saves both parties time] if there are documents that relate to the dispute, a copy of those documents ready to send, the basic information for the other party or parties to the dispute, and any communications the client has received from others relating to their dispute.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

[qualifications, experience, track record, community support]. I proactively assess clients case and provide upfront the likely costs that their dispute will involve. I also pride myself on presenting multiple options for a client depending on their particular circumstances and budget. I also advise clients to seek a second opinion which, to my knowledge, is very rare.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Being an individual business owner is rewarding in that I control the success of my practice, and have a more direct relationship with my clients that I did not have when I was at large law firms.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I enjoy golf and coaching my kids various sports.

Are you involved in your community?

Yes, I am president of our town little league.
