About Arun Sharma
Arun Sharma Lavine, of counsel to the firm, has been a member of the New Jersey Bar for twenty years. A graduate of the Villanova University School of Law, Ms. Lavine started her law practice with an insurance defense firm in South Jersey. After working there, she joined the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office as an assistant prosecutor,
Ms. Lavine understands the importance of contributing to our communities by zealously representing those who need a voice in the Mercer, Burlington, Middlesex and Monmouth County criminal justice system. During the course of Ms. Lavine's career, she has defended adults, juveniles, organizations and businesses charged with criminal felonies and disorderly persons offenses in New Jersey State courts and local Municipal courts. Ms. Lavine prides herself on listening to her clients when the police don't and fighting against the injustices and inequities inherent in the New Jersey criminal justice system. To Ms. Lavine, every client counts and every client deserves justice.
In 1991, Ms. Lavine joined the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office and headed their Economic Crime Unit. In addition to being in charge of the ECU, Ms. Lavine had over thirty jury trials and was responsible for a wide variety of criminal matters. This enabled her to develop an insider's range of knowledge and experience.
After leaving the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office, she opened her own law office in Lawrenceville focusing on real estate, municipal court and matrimonial matters. In addition, she became an assistant Prosecutor for the city of Trenton where she worked until 2001. In 2001, while continuing her private practice, she became the prosecutor for the township of Hamilton until the end of 2007. In addition, Ms. Lavine is currently an Adjunct Professor at Rider University where she teaches various criminal procedure classes.
Ms. Lavine believes in giving back to the community and has been a member of the Junior League of Greater Princeton as well as an associate Board Member of the McCarter Theatre.
