About Barrett
During twenty-six years in private practice, Barrett Pope has handled a variety of commercial lawsuits in state and federal courts. Mr. Pope is routinely in Virginia Business Magazine's "Legal Elite" in the category of Civil Litigation. He has also been named named in the area of Business Litigation as a Super Lawyer by Law & Politics magazine.

A UVA law professor and commentator described one of Mr. Pope's cases, Tazewell Oil Company v. United Virginia Bank, 243 Va. 94, 413 S.E. 2d 611 (1992), as "perhaps one of the most complex cases litigated in the modern era" in Virginia.
Mr. Pope has written numerous appellate briefs and has argued before the Virginia Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Personal Background:
Receiving his law degree in 1981 from the University of Richmond, Mr. Pope finished in the top ten of his class. He was a member of the Law Review, the National Moot Court team, and Omicron Delta Kappa. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1975 with a degree in Commerce.
