Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
We represented a client who was injured by an 18-wheeler in a wreck in Mississippi. The insurance company initially offered to pay her medical bills. By litigating the case and knowing the true value of the claim we forced a settlement at 10 times the originally offered amount. It is important to move quickly in these cases and contact an attorney for a free consultation early in the process.
How did you build a successful practice?
Communication with clients is crucial to make sure the client's needs are being met and their questions are being answered. We attempt to be available in many different ways to our clients. One benefit of digital communication is that documents and photos can be added to a case file at any time of day or night.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Accessibility. Are you able to get in touch with your attorney, do you get a return phone call or email when he is not available. Also, good quality information about your claim, your treatment plan, and how your claim can help you make a recovery and try to put your life back together.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Highly. The different areas of the state vary in their response to clients, and juries are looking for different information when they make their decision on how much to award an injured person. I have a background in Psychology and try to think about each case and how parts of the case will communicate to a jury.

What a claim may be worth in settlement, what symptoms may need a consult with a doctor, when a specialist may be needed, how a particular insurance company handles claims. I am happy to answer questions, and try to be useful.

When the injury occurred, how the other person is at fault, what treatment you have gotten, what treatment you plan on getting.

Accessibility. We strive to return phone calls and emails promptly to make sure our clients have the information they need as the claim progresses.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Helping people who have been hurt get the funds they need to put their life back together. It is sometimes a night and day difference, when you have been able to help and you know the result was a good one it is a very good feeling.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I have a deep desire to see revitalization in Mississippi, and especially in my local community.

Yes, I live and work in Jackson, Mississippi. I think that revitalizing Fondren, Jackson, and the state is critical and I look forward to what the future holds for our state.
