Mississippi was the 20th US state. It has more tree farms and churches per capita than any other state. MS leads the global pond-raised catfish supply, and it is the second largest cotton producer. Petal contains the International Checkers Hall of Fame, and 4H began in Holmes County. Edwards contains the world’s only cactus plantation, which has over 3,000 varieties. Mississippi has over 100 species of trees.
