Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I represented a mother who had her world turned upside down when the father (her husband) had an affair with the teacher from their child's school. The mother was a student and employed part-time with two young children. She wanted to relocate out of the Washington, DC area to attend a better educational program (college) and to be closer to family. I was able to obtain an emergency order for her to relocate with the children. A year later, I am happy to say, her and the children are thriving in their new environment.

How did you build a successful practice?

One client and one referral at a time. We work hard for all clients no matter whether the case is big or small.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Honestly, integrity, and someone that they can be open and comfortable with.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Very. The moment you walk into court everything becomes important: the law, case law, who the Judge is, what the evidence will show, and what the goals are.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I will provide a background on the process and an evaluation as to whether or not it is a case we can handle, and if not, a referral to someone who can.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

Who the parties are, where the parties are located, and what the potential client hopes to achieve by going to court.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I work hard, am easy to get a hold of (no associates or paralegals to jump through before reaching me), approachable, and well known and respected in the legal community.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Being able to help others at the most critical time of need.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I enjoy boating, flying airplanes, travel, and spending time with friends and family.

Are you involved in your community?

I am active in many bar associations and sit on many boards and committees within our community. My website outlines many of the organizations I am a part of.
