Questions & Answers

How did you build a successful practice?

By being results oriented and by creating a legal fee structure that fits the client's needs on a case-by-case basis, i.e., I will find a way to make it work for the client.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Honesty, integrity, ability, trustworthiness, experience, a never ending willingness to hustle, an entrepreneurial spirit and an understanding of your goals and objectives.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Critical; those in the labor and employment business deal with each other often. It is a small community of lawyers because it is a focused area of the law. If you do not know the players, you will have a hard time sizing up the other side and predicting the opposing parties first and last moves before you even start.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

The nature/scope of the matter the client's ultimate goals and objectives.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

An excellent track record of success; constant client communication whether it is day or night, weekday or weekend, via email, phone or even by text message; a broad range of legal and work experience; experience handling all different types of legal and business matters - my firm can be a one-stop shop, if the client wants it to be.

Are you involved in your community?

I have a long history of community involvement and service. At a young age, I started serving my community as a volunteer for the Colonie Youth Court, the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY and the Ronald McDonald House. As a college student, I started an online software and mobile applications company dedicated to helping charities effectively manage their fundraising efforts. For my work, I was named to the Albany Business Review's "Forty under 40" list in 2006 at the age of 21. From 2004 to 2006, I served on the Board of Trustees of Union College. Thereafter, I served the College as the National Young Alumni Chair from 2006 to 2010. I have and continue to contribute hundreds of hours (pro bono) to clients relating to issues, matters and cases involving domestic violence/domestic relations and unemployment insurance claims. Currently, I serve my community in the following capacities: as an Associate Member of the International Union of Police Associations, Inc.; as a member of the Lawyers' Coordinating Committee; as a volunteer Patrolman for the Schenectady County Auxiliary Police (Office of Emergency Management). I am also the Secretary for the unit.
