Bruce C. Scalambrino, Attorney

Born and raised in Ohio, Bruce limits his practice to business reorganization, bankruptcy and insolvency practice  and commercial and business litigation . He represent debtors, landlords, financial institutions, secured and unsecured creditors, attorneys, bankruptcy trustees and creditors' committees in bankruptcy and state court insolvency cases in Chicago and throughout the United States. He is a speaker and writer on these issues and has been retained as an expert witness on bankruptcy issues.

Bruce also advises small and medium size companies regarding all aspects of their business, including sales and purchases of assets, contract negotiations, bank financing, collection of receivables, corporate formalities, and general business advice.

Bruce's recent experience includes:

• representing unofficial committee of debenture holders in major real estate Chapter 11 case in Puerto Rico
• representing official unsecured creditors committee in major food distributor Chapter 11 Case
• representing the largest unsecured creditor in a major law firm liquidation
• prosecuting "veil piercing" actions on behalf of bankruptcy trustees
• representing multiple defendants in state court preference and fraudulent conveyance litigation brought under the Ohio insurance liquidation statutes
• representing multiple creditors' committees in Chapter 11 cases
• advising and documenting a collection agent's assignment of contracts from the Assignee of a major technology consulting company
• multiple out-of-court workouts of the financial affairs of highly leveraged businesses
• advising secured creditors in structuring and conducting UCC sales of collateral
• representing a debtor in a Chapter 11 case during which its manufacturing operations were moved to the Maquiladora District in Anahuac, Nuevo Leon, Mexico
• representing potential purchaser in purchasing operating assets from bankruptcy trustee in MarchFirst bankruptcy case
• representing a group of equity partners in an international law firm liquidation
