About Caitlin
One of Caitlin's strongest points is how she wastes no time getting a case started. When her client tells stories of a controlling or manipulative spouse who hides money or underreports income, Attorney Costigan files her complaint and has the opposing party served with motions (requests for the Court to order some sort of relief) for temporary orders. She'll often seek child support, custody, a specific proportion of household expenses, or that neither party leaves the Commonwealth with the children without written permission from the other parent.
Though Massachusetts law is the same across the Commonwealth, each judge interprets statutory law and handles his or her cases and procedures a little differently from the judges and courthouses in other counties. For that reason, Caitlin Costigan makes it a point to become familiar with each of the courts and judges in Middlesex, Essex, Norfolk, Bristol, and Plymouth counties. By her working day in and day out in the same places, she knows how things work.
Does that mean she litigates every case? No. However, Caitlin does prepare each case as if it is going to trial. She believes her preparation and willingness to go to court leads to more favorable settlement offers.
Caitlin earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and her Juris Doctor Degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Hamden, Connecticut.
