LAWYER WARRINGTON PULLS IT OFF AGAIN!

"Calgary family lawyer Brian Warrington, pulled off a win for his client after a five day trial. The Judge awarded the wife generous spousal support, spousal support arrears, as well as almost half the equity to the home."

Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

Please see the cases below titled, "Nearly Destroyed by Bureaucracy," and "Lawyer Warrington Pulls It Off Again!"

How did you build a successful practice?

I built a successful practice by bringing files to closure, settling out of court, and by specializing in custody, abduction and child mobility matters. I became a successful trial lawyer and qualified as a mediator.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

If they are willing to meet out of court to settle.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

This is hard to say; I rely upon local mediators to assist in settling and local psychologists for child appraisals.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I follow up with a draft custody and access draft order.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

If there are kids involved, if they own property, the date of separation, length of relationship, and a list of assets and debts.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I encourage, even insist that clients work out as many issues as they can with their spouse, or we proceed with mediation, as a pre-requisite to court.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my job is getting settlement to a difficult file, and wrestling children back to this province after being abducted.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

My other interests are the outdoors, history, and fly fishing.

Are you involved in your community?

I am involved with the Board of Directors to an Outdoor Club and the Board of Governors to the Army Cadet League of Alberta (youths of the army cadets). I promote, market, and recruit for the Alberta Army Cadets (youths 12 - 18). Since 2004, I have been a volunteer with a host of youth groups, coach for the biathlon, and cross country ski. I have fostered a few youths in my home, and fundraise and purchase/donate musical instruments to a youth band.
