Mathew believes strongly in a client centered practice and will work to get you the best results for your particular situation. If litigation is necessary he has the skills needed to fight for you in court. However, he understands that litigation may not always be in his client’s best interest, and he will use his negotiation skills to help families come to a negotiated settlement.
Mathew takes pride in being open and honest with his clients about their situation. He firmly believes that people should be kept informed and up to date on their file as it progresses. Everyone’s situation is different and Mathew will take time to get to know your needs before planning how to resolve your case.
Mathew is passionate about advocacy and has taken many cases to trial. However, advocacy also means assisting families to resolve conflicts in a way that will result in long lasting and beneficial agreements. Mathew believes that in general, families need a more cost effective and collaborative approach to resolving their disputes.
When not in the office, Mathew spends his time outdoors, camping, backpacking, kayaking, and fishing.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?An honest one, who won't just tell them what they want to hear, as well as confidence.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?Very important, a knowledge of the area and the resources available for my clients is very valuable. A lawyer should also understand the unique characteristics that clients deal with day to day.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?Basics of the situation and general details of the issues, and what the client is seeking.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?I have a very straightforward, cost effective, client centered approach to resolving issues, with the goal of resolution that avoids unnecessary litigation. While I enjoy going to Court, I understand that it's not always in my client's best interests.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?Hearing or seeing the relief in my clients when we have successfully resolved their matter, and have helped them through a very difficult time.
What are your other interests in addition to law?Outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, kayaking, 4x4ing, woodworking, bbqing. All of which help me relax and refresh so I can better help my clients.
