About Ronald
Ron has developed a strong reputation as a highly skilled, intelligent and fair lawyer who practises with honesty and integrity. Prior to joining Bergmanis Preyra, he practised as defence counsel for both insurers and self-insured entities as a partner at Dutton Brock LLP. Ron has extensive experience acting as both defence and plaintiff’s counsel in motor vehicle, occupiers’ liability, product liability, and medical malpractice cases.
With a personal injury practice that is built on the belief that all people should be treated fairly and with respect, Ron has successfully represented clients in a broad range of personal injury matters before all levels of court in Ontario.
He also enjoys teaching and mentoring legal professionals, has undertaken numerous speaking engagements and has written articles on various aspects of personal injury law. In addition, he taught the Litigation for Law Clerks course at Durham College and is the firm’s articling principal. Ron has also been a long-term supporter of The Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton and various other charitable organizations.
