Attorney for the Appelee in a civil case in which the Appellant alleged that the Trial Court erred in motion to dismiss for want of jurisdiction based on the plaintiff's lack of standing. The Appeals Court rulled in favor of the Appellant.

How did you build a successful practice?
I built my practice through a lot of hard work and dedication to my clients. I make myself and my staff readily available to my clients. I have a lot of word of mouth referrals from satisfied customers. There are several of my clients that I have handle numerous legal matters for them.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
I believe clients should look for an attorney that is willing to be honest with them and let the know from the beginning what they believe their odds are of being able to obtain the outcome that they desire. I don't make promises to my client about what a Judge will do because I have know why of knowing what ruling will come from a Judge. I can tell clients about my experience in front of Judge's to give an idea of what has been done on cases in the past but there are no guarantees in law and not attorney should ever state that there is.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
I believe that if an attorney does not know the way certain things are done in particular courthouses that it can have a huge effect on a clients case. Every courthouse and Judge has a different way they handle things and those ways have to be respected by attorneys.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I can usually answer any question about any case during a phone consultation; however, I often will not provide any form of legal advice to anyone calling for a phone consultation as I don't have enough information from the call to let them know exactly what their rights are, plus I don't represent them and do not want them making a decision based off of me not having all the facts.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I generally need to know if there is already a case pending or if we are filing a new action. Where the action would be filed and what type of action it would be.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I believe that I make myself more accessible to clients and that makes them feel more secure in my representation of them because they know that they can always reach me if there is a problem with their case.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
I would have to say it would be helping obtain a resolution for people with children that makes the life of the child a little bit easier.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I enjoy travel.
