About Carolyn

A native San Franciscan and a member of the State Bar of California since 1994, Carolyn focuses her practice on estate planning, elder law and abuse, probate and trust administration of estates, giving particular attention to the concerns of the elderly and those having elderly parents who require assistance. She also serves as court-appointed attorney in conservatorship cases and handles guardianships for minors and dependent adults.

Admitted to the Bar in June, 1994, after raising two sons and working for a large corporation, Carolyn attended the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she received her doctotal degree in jurisprudence ("JD"). She eared her Bachelor's degree in French and English at the University of California at Berkeley. While in law school, Carolyn served as law clerk to the Honorable Isabella Horton Grant, who was then the Judge of the San Franciso Superior Court Probate Department.

Carolyn is particularly sensitive to family dymnamics and has counseled many families and individuals regarding their concerns about the bequest of their property and the mechanisms for achieving their wishes, as well as the various means available to minimize taxes, both during their lifetimes and post mortem.

Although her office is in San Francisco, Carolyn has court cases in the several Bay Area Countes, including Contra Costa, Alameda, San Mateo and Marin. When her clients cannot come to her offfice due to ill health or injury, Carolyn makes home visits at no additional charge. She is known for her kindness and compassion in dealing with difficult circumstances.

A member of the French Heritage Society and the Symphony League of the San Francisco Symphony, Carolyn is also a member of the California Heritage Foundation, the Opti-MS Club of San Francisco, and the Arthritis Foundation Auxiliary, Carolyn also serves on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Breakfast Club and the Chinese Hospital Auxiliary, donating her energy, enthusiasm, and time to those causes.
