About Colleen
Colleen graduated with a BA in French from Seattle University in 1983 and received her Juris Doctorate from Seattle University in 1987. Her road to the Law Offices of James Newton has taken her from four years at the Associate Counsel for the Accused, to Assistant City Attorney and Prosecuting Attorney for the City of Des Moines, Washington, to private defense work. Most recently, Colleen served as Presiding Judge in Des Moines and Normandy Park Municipal Courts as well as serving as Judge in the Federal Way Municipal Court.
Colleen was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1988 and U.S. Federal Court in 1990. In 2000 she was named a Rising Star Lawyer by Washington Law and Politics.
