Vinny Iyer has always had a desire to learn a variety of different subjects, and has always had a passion for justice; both of these traits led him to the practice of law. Vinny went to Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where he received his Bachelor of Arts. While at Creighton, Vinny majored in music performance and theory, co-majored in political science, and completed the pre-medical program. After Creighton, Vinny attended the University of Nebraska – Omaha to study music composition where he learned counterpoint, orchestration, and advanced music theory. During this time, Vinny also played with his band while teaching music theory and guitar lessons. Eventually, Vinny’s passion lead him to the University of Nebraska – Lincoln College of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate. Additionally, Vinny completed the litigation skills program of concentrated study with a criminal emphasis. While enrolled in law school, Vinny Iyer served as a clerk with Atwood, Holsten, Brown, Deaver and Spier Law Firm. In this role, he primarily handled personal injury and workers’ compensation cases, which would later become his focus at Falgien Warr & Iyer, P.C. Upon graduating from law school, he worked as a senior analyst contract attorney, auditing foreclosure and mortgage procedures for a multinational bank. He then represented clients through his own contract defense firm and at Clear Creek Consulting, wherein he helped individuals and businesses resolve tax liabilities with Federal and State taxing authorities. Subsequently, Vinny was hired as an attorney at The Law Offices of Dianne Sawaya, LLC where he focused on personal injury cases. Vinny is a founding partner of Falgien, Warr & Iyer, P.C. where his primary focus is on personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. Eric Staton lived in Illinois until he was in the second grade, then in Spring, Texas, until his junior year in high school. His family moved to Littleton, Colorado in 1990, where he finished high school at Heritage High School. After high school, Eric studied English and Philosophy in Regis University, so the practice of Law appealed to him because he wanted a career that utilized his strengths in writing and analytical thinking. Eric studied Law at Rutgers School of Law. Eric was mentored in the area of workers’ compensation by one of the best lawyers who ever practiced in that area in Colorado, and he focuses his legal practice primarily on workers’ compensation claims, wrongful death claims, and injury claims of all types. During law school, Mr. Chayet's grandmother, Letty Milstein, was the principle party in one of the most controversial and public elder law cases in the state of Colorado. The Estate of Milstein v. Ayers, 955 P.2d 78 (Colo. App. 1998), is a landmark probate case which upholds and protects the right to counsel and due process of incapacitated adults in Colorado and has been codified into the Colorado Uniform Protective Proceedings Act (the guardianship and conservatorship laws). This experience was the impetus for Mr. Chayet's career long practice commitment to the field of elder law and probate litigation. Mr. Chayet is the past Chairman of the Elder Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association and the recipient of Colorado Super Lawyers 2011 Rising Star in Elder Law. Mr. Chayet's expertise in the area of elder law has also been demonstrated through his publishing in the areas of elder law as well as many public speaking appearances throughout Colorado.Mr. Chayet is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and a member of the Colorado Bar Association where fellow Colorado attorneys nominated Mr. Chayet to be a Fellow of the Colorado Bar Foundation. Mr. Chayet, born and raised in Denver, Colorado, is continuing in the footsteps of his family in assisting the philanthropic and civic community of Colorado, by serving on the board of many not-for-profit organizations including the Total Long Term Care Foundation, Guardianship Alliance of Colorado, Colorado Citizens for Accountability, Allied Jewish Apartments, Jewish Senior Recreation Network, the Foundation For Hope and the Life Source Services Hospice.
