Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I had the privilege of resolving a case on behalf of a young mother who was injured when she was t-boned by another car. The other driver and his passenger were fleeing a crime seen when the impact occurred. It was a blessing to be able to help her recover for her injuries. She was truly appreciative for the result we obtained on her behalf.

How did you build a successful practice?

Treat people like you want to be treated. That is the foundation of any successful venture whether personal or professional. It's a biblical truth that doesn't change with fads or marketing schemes.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Experience in the specific area of the law in which the client needs help is a must. Many attorneys advertise that they handle injury cases, but they either don't or only handle a small amount of injury cases. Your case is too important to trust it to someone who doesn't know the tactics of insurance companies and their experienced lawyers.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

It is very important to understand the location of each case. Juries and judges in one county may typically award more or less than the county that is right next door. These factors can greatly influence the likelihood of success in a case.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I can conduct a full intake on the phone or a brief introduction in order to schedule an in-person meeting. We can cover the facts of your situation, the law that applies, my recommendations on what to do and my fee for my services. I always allow clients to ask questions of me.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I will need your name, a contact number, and the facts of the situation that you are calling about.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

There are a lot of good attorneys in our community. One thing that differentiates me is that approximately 95% of the cases I handle involve a client who has been injured and is seeking compensation. I would not be near as good at what I do if I tried to practice in other areas of the law. When I had knee surgery, I went to a doctor who regularly operated on knees as opposed to a back surgeon.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Being an advocate for someone who is down and out. I've always loved the underdog. It's a blessing to fight for someone and see the difference I've made in their life.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I try my best to serve God. There is no better Advocate than Jesus Christ! I love my family. I'm blessed with a loving wife and children. I love welcoming newcomers to our local church. Fishing is my favorite activity although golf is a close second. A quite afternoon hunting with my kids is also something I love. Finally, I love cooking, but I love eating good food even more!

Are you involved in your community?

I'm very involved in our church where I serve as a deacon and teach our new member class. I've coached over 30 youth sports teams in baseball, softball, flag football and basketball. I currently serve on the board of Five Star Credit Union.
