Kristi earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and counseling from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, followed by a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of New Orleans. During her doctoral program, she minored in play therapy and later became a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. Her doctoral research focused on how counselors are trained to counsel children, and her professional work included many years of counseling children and teaching play therapy—an approach that allows children to express emotions and experiences through play when they are not yet able to do so verbally. She later transitioned from counseling into the legal field, earning her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law and admission to the State Bar of Georgia in 2020. She served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Appalachian Judicial Circuit, where she prosecuted juvenile cases and gained significant courtroom experience involving children and families. Jim earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law and began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in several Georgia judicial circuits. In this capacity, he prosecuted felony, domestic violence, and child protection cases, gaining substantial experience in high-stakes litigation and developing a comprehensive understanding of legal issues that frequently intersect with family law. Before joining Atlanta Divorce Law Group, Jim practiced at several prominent Atlanta law firms, representing clients in divorce, child custody, child support, and high-asset family law cases. Most recently, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, further refining his trial advocacy and negotiation skills. Jim currently focuses his practice on guiding clients through complex family transitions with clarity, diligence, and practical advice. He is recognized for thorough preparation, direct communication, and a commitment to assisting clients in navigating challenging legal decisions with confidence and pragmatism. Outside his legal practice, Jim enjoys spending time with his 3 dogs, hiking, playing pool, and watching movies and television. In recent years, he has also renewed his interest in reading and writing, pursuits that contribute to his thoughtful and measured approach to his work.

Her diverse professional background includes serving as an Associate with The World Bank in the Staff Association unit and working as a law clerk with the Domestic Violence Legal Empowerment and Appeals Project, where she supported individuals affected by domestic violence.
