About Daniel
After serving five years in the United States' Marine Corps, Dan Gaskill earned a Master's Degree in Social Work and a Law Degree from the University of Maryland. Dan then worked with a small team of attorneys to sue the government of Iran for carrying out terrorist acts against American citizens in Beirut, Lebanon. In 2002, Mr. Gaskill and the team obtained a liability judgment against the Government of Iran. Five years later, in 2007 – the Beirut Plaintiffs received a monetary judgment for over two and a half billion dollars. Soon after the Beirut liability judgment was announced in 2002, Mr. Gaskill opened the doors to a different type of law firm.
Mr. Gaskill has created a unique law firm that is more concerned with the client's overall well being. Dan knows that a when a client is charged with a criminal act, that client needs someone to assist with the emotional stresses of being arrested as much as the legal issues. Dan especially enjoys working with juvenile clients. Mr. Gaskill believes that if a juvenile is accused of a crime, the focus needs to be on the child - not the crime. If the child is innocent, that child shouldn't be bullied into a plea deal. If the child was somehow involved in questionable acts, that child may need services or treatment – not harsh punishment.
Dan works hard to reach juveniles and create a plan that will intervene and prevent a downward spiral. Equipped with incredible life experience and a Master's Degree in Social Work, and having spent most of his life working with teens, Dan has a unique ability to help you get your teen back on track.
Dan Gaskill grew up on the Jersey shore, but also lived briefly in New Orleans, LA. and Chattanooga, TN. After high school graduation, Dan went to Jacksonville University in Florida. Dan also achieved the rank of Sergeant in the Marines. Although he worked in the field of "Amphibious Assault," he also worked closely with troops who needed help with addiction issues. Dan ran the substance Abuse Control Office for over two years.
Dan has always known the importance of service and community. Although Dan is a serious and effective criminal defense attorney, he also has a great sense of humor and understands the shock, humiliation, and distress that comes from being arrested.
Dan Gaskill has been entrenched in his community for many years now. He has committed countless hours to volunteer work, such as teaching Marital Communication, Parenting classes, Fundraising for a domestic violence shelter, and his favorite activity – coaching.
