About Daniel

Daniel S. Sweetser is a partner in the firm's Business and Litigation group. For the past 18 years, Dan has been successfully litigating a wide range of cases in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including cases involving employment and labor law, contract law, insurance law, securities law, franchise law, and civil rights law. Prior to joining the firm, Dan was a partner with Lozier, Lazzaro & Sweetser for five years and prior to that, he was a partner with Pellettieri, Rabstein, & Altman.

Dan is a member of the American Bar Association, Employment Law Section; the New Jersey, Mercer County, and Bucks County Bar Associations; the National Employment Lawyer's Association; and the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Employment Lawyer's Associations. He received his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law, Delaware, and his B.A. from Rutgers University, New Brunswick.

Dan's Recent Representative Cases Include:

Breach of Contract:  Jury verdict in New Jersey federal court, which resulted in a $1,085,000 judgment in favor of our client in a breach of verbal contract case.

Sexual Harassment: Jury verdict in New Jersey state court in a sexual harassment retaliation case, which resulted in a confidential settlement while the jury was deliberating on the issue of punitive damages.

Civil Rights:  $200,000 settlement reached after three days of trial in a New Jersey federal civil rights case in which our client alleged she was sexually abused while a student in high school.

Franchise Law and Consumer Fraud:  Verdict of no cause of action issued after a five-day non-jury trial in a $1,000,000 franchise and consumer fraud claim brought by a restaurant franchisee against our clients, a franchisor and franchising company.

Political Discrimination:  $1,250,000 pre trial settlement in a New Jersey federal civil rights case alleging political patronage discrimination against a state governmental entity. 

Age Discrimination:  Multi-hundred dollar confidential settlement reached during a securities arbitration involving an age discrimination claim against a large securities broker.    

Handicap Discrimination:  Handicap discrimination claim brought by a former employee against our client, AAA Mid Atlantic, dismissed on summary judgment.

Sexual Harassment Retaliation Claim:  Jury verdict which resulted in $300,000 settlement in Pennsylvania federal court in suit filed on behalf of our client, who was fired after reporting that a co-employee was being sexually harassed.
