About Darice

Ms. Weber, a Shareholder of the Firm in the Litigation Group, is a former law clerk for the Honorable James P. Brickley, Michigan Supreme Court, and the Honorable Robert P. Griffin, Michigan Supreme Court. She is a 1993 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and a 1990 graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Political Science, and graduated with high honors. Ms. Weber also studied at University College, Oxford University, during her second year in law school.

Ms. Weber concentrates her practice in negligence and commercial litigation, all aspects of employment litigation, and automotive product liability litigation. She represents DTE Energy and its subsidiaries, Detroit Edison Company and Michigan Consolidated Gas Company. She has represented General Motors Corporation, the City of Detroit, DaimlerChrysler Corporation, The Detroit Transportation Corporation, Pepsi Bottling Group, John Deere, and ArvinMeritor, among others. She has obtained defense verdicts for clients at trial, including an automotive breach of warranty action in Campbell County, Virginia, and an automotive products liability action (defective seat belt allegation) in Wayne County, Michigan. She also has obtained three no-cause arbitration awards in Section 1983 cases, including a death case. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Weber has briefed or argued cases in the Michigan Supreme Court, the Michigan Court of Appeals, the California Court of Appeals, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Weber is active in her community, coaching soccer for Think DetroitPAL, where she has been recognized as a Top Ten Character Building Coach and asked to participate in focus group sessions and one-on-one interviews designed to improve the training for coaches. Ms. Weber has written various “success story” letters for Think DetroitPAL to assist it in obtaining grants. In November 2007, Ms. Weber was invited to speak at the annual fundraising luncheon for Think Detroit PAL and spoke about one of her many coaching “success stories.” Ms. Weber’s community activities also encompass assisting her sister in the rescue and placement of stray kittens and cats, and serving as counsel in a pro bono capacity for Waggin’ Tails Dog Rescue.
