Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I do a lot of family law so I believe all of my cases are cases where I make a difference in my client's life. I feel I listen to them and try to work with them on getting a result both legally but also in working with their significant other as amicably as possible.

How did you build a successful practice?

I believe I have built a successful practice by taking all of my clients issues and concerns seriously. I talk to my clients and do not have staff do that for me. I also feel I put their needs first by making sure they know what is going on in their case at all times and give them legal advice to make important decisions regarding their cases.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for a lawyer that is interested in what the client has to say and that they are not just simply another client. They need an attorney that cares about what they have to say and want to help them in their case.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Knowing local customs and practices in the community of the other attorneys and judges is very important in both family law cases and criminal matters. Knowing these things may help your case resolve easier or with less legal intervention or may help in the attorneys involved cooperating with each other for needed information.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I would give basic information in a free phone consultation. Every matter is its own case and the facts and circumstances are different in every case and it is important to get a thorough history of the case to give detailed advice and that is not possible generally on a phone consultation.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I like to get basic information as well and depending on what type of matter and the issue in the case I would generally ask them to schedule a conference to get specific information for their specific case.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I believe I am different from other attorneys in this community as I care about my clients, whether they are family law clients or criminal law appointments or whatever. I am interested in doing the best I can for every client and helping them through their individual case. I listen to what my clients say and what they would like to see happen with their case but if that is not a possible outcome I will be honest with them and tell them based on my experience what should be expected with their particular matter.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I enjoy helping my clients. Knowing that I am helping someone get visitation or custody of their children is very rewarding. Also knowing that the system is kept in check with the criminal clients and that their rights are not being trampled on is also necessary to keep the systems checks and balances in place.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Mostly my family is my outside interests. I enjoy camping, boating, fishing and spending time with my friends and family. we play cards and games all together or just get together for family meals. I also bowl on a bowling league. For vacations, I love going on cruises.

Are you involved in your community?

I am not greatly involved in my community, I am involved in the legal community by being on the family law committee and the women in law committee.
