David grew up in Goldsboro, N.C. He attended the North Carolina School of Science and Math before attending college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1994 to 1998. David graduated with a degree in journalism and then proceeded to attend Campbell Law School from 1998 to 2001 where he graduated in the top 5 of his class.
David currently lives in Greenville, NC with his wife and six children.

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I successfully had a Judge's case remanded from the appeals council in a Social Security Disability case and convinced another Judge that her past relevant work could not be used to deny my client's case because there was not sufficient time and skill used to qualify the past work as relevant past work.
How did you build a successful practice?
I have continued to run my business by following the golden rule. In particular, if I were a client, I would always want and honest assessment of my case and the options in my case. Honesty about what a client's position in a case is, whether it is good or bad, I believe helps to make clients understand why decisions should be made in a certain way. An honest exchange of ideas and information between a lawyer and the client makes a successful practice.
